So when in India do as the Indians do! I got dressed up to go to my first Indian Gala dinner at the New York Public Library as part of the
India@60 celebration. I bought two saris with Anna and didn't realize how much fabric goes into a sari. Basically I had to get a very small shirt made (it was very very tight) and then wear a petty coat. Anna helped to pin the whole thing together with only two pins!! So much fabric was tucked into the front of the petty coat. It was amazing to see so much fabric disappear into the skirt! I felt like an adopted Indian women - love the colors!!
