So much had been written and seen about the Taj Mahal that our expectations were so high. We didn't know anything about the Agra Fort so when we got there we were absolutely stunned by the awesome structure. It was a palace within a fortress. We learned that Shah Jah Hahn (the Maharaja who built the Taj Mahal in memory of his beloved wife) was imprisoned here at the Agra Fort for the last 8 years of his life by his son! Imagine that!! I thought it was bad enough that my kids talk back at me!
